Who’s in, who’s out? That’s the biggest question to ponder on at the high school district in Delano.
Superintendent Rosalina Rivera was very devastated by the cuts involving 14 teaching positions. The cuts were due to the jobs failure to complete a credential program or failure to meet performance standards.
The lost teaching positions included four Math, four English and four science.
Consequently, other teachers will have an increased class sizes period. However, Rivera guaranteed that the quality of education will not be compromised.
Other budget saving measures included grant applications and use of reserves. Some teachers were even working for free like being the yearbook’s administrator for free.
