Hit-and-Run Accident Leaves Freeway Worker Critically Injured

If a worker was injured while performing his job duties, he may be entitled to receive financial help from the liable party or from his employer through the workers’ compensation program.

Hopefully, this program will provide financial assistance to a construction worker who was severely injured in a hit-and-run accident caused by a suspected drunken driver in Riverside County.

According to reports, a car hit Barry Steele, 52, along Van Buren Boulevard. He was at the 91 Freeway on-ramp at the time of the accident.

The area was closed when the accident occurred. The driver Brandi Holmes, 21, from Riverside, tried to escape after the accident. Construction workers fortunately captured Holmes, who was then arrested by police.

The victim may hopefully receive monetary help from workers’ compensation insurance or Skanska Construction, the company he is working in. Because he was put on life support, he will need all the help that others can give him.
