In a previous WW post, we warned about work from home, job placement and business opportunity scams which have been cropping up everywhere lately like bad mushrooms due to a lot of unemployed workers’ desperation to work.
However, take note that NOT ALL work from home jobs are a scam – a sterling example of a legitimate work from home job is Alpine Access, a customer service/call center company that utilizes a work at home format.
But the work from home format isn’t the only thing that is revolutionary about the company—work shifts also vary, employees would have to take calls from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. or from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The 40 hour work week also isn’t applicable — employees work 20-30 hours and week and are paid $8 to $12 an hour.
Call center companies are now shifting their jobs back to the US market – Convergys, TeleTech, and LiveOps are among those who are also now employing the work from home set-up.
